Abrasives
Plastic Media
One of the gentlest available blasting abrasives. Used for dry stripping of coatings without damaging the under lying surface. Can be used on soft substrates such as aluminium, composites, fiberglass, wood etc. Available approved to Mil-Spec MIL-P-85891A.
We are proud to be a distributor of BIP (Oldbury) Limited plastic blast media.
Cut Wire
Cut wire is produced from a variety of stock material including, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and zinc. Cut wire is supplied in various degrees of conditioning. Carbon steel and stainless steel are available as peening shot, produced to AMS2431 and SAE-J441 specifications.
Aluminium Oxide
Aluminium oxide is a fast cutting aggressive blasting abrasive used for cleaning and etching ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces. Available in brown and white.
Glass Beads
Glass beads are a gentle blasting and finishing abrasive that produce a clean, bright surface finish. They are very effective on non-ferrous materials such as aluminium and stainless steel. The spherical particle shape does not damage the surface of the part.
Deflashing Plastic
Used for deflashing and deburring plastic and rubber moldings. Available in ambient and cryogenic grades in a variety of shapes and materials.
Ceramic
Ceramic beads are a very tough spherical abrasive used for surface finishing and shot peening. Can be used as an alternative to glass beads and have a much longer life. Peening grade meets AMS and SAE specification requirements.
Stainless Steel Shot
Very effective blasting media for surface finishing of aluminium or stainless steel parts as no ferrous residue is left on the part. Their high density ensures fast blasting speeds.
Steel Shot
Used primarily in airless blasting equipment for descaling and foundry applications. Long lasting and durable and available in a variety of sizes.
Steel Grit
Excellent abrasive for use in blastrooms for descaling and cleaning steel components prior to painting. When used in conjunction with one of our blastrooms will produce the lowest per square meter blasting cost.
We are proud to be an authorised agent of Blastrac Steel Shot and Grit.
Walnut Shell
A very soft abrasive used for coating removal from soft substrates i.e., wood, fiberglass, composites etc. Being a natural product waste disposal issues are minimized.
Zinc Shot
Zinc Shot is a soft cast abrasive manufactured from pure zinc. It is used for deburring, cleaning, descaling and finishing.
Silicon Carbide
The hardest of all commonly available blasting abrasives. Very fast cutting and tough can be used as an alternative to aluminium oxide as produces less static electricity.
Garnet
An expendable abrasive, garnet is the choice alternative to silica sands and mineral slags. Containing virtually no free silica garnet is operator and environmentally safe. When used in conjunction with our garnet recycling equipment significant cost savings can be achieved.
