Steel Shot Abrasive Blasting Media

Description

Steel Shot Steel Shot is a cast spherical metallic abrasive produced by atomizing molten steel. Steel Shot is used for descaling, coating, corrosion and sand removal. The spherical shape minimizes wear when used in centrifugal wheel blast equipment.

Steel Shot is tempered to a uniform hardness range and screened to various sizes. Steel Shot produces a dimpled surface finish. Toughness and durability allows recycling many times, producing the most cost effective abrasive for many applications.

Applications

Removal of mill scale, rust and old coatings from structural steel plates, profiles and fabrications prior to painting. Descaling of metal forgings and heat treated items.

Sand removal from large and medium sized steel and iron castings. Smaller shots may be used for sand removal and cleaning of non ferrous castings.

Shot blasting of concrete floors with enclosed blasting equipment. Concrete block and slab surface preparation. Concrete removal from scaffolding and formwork.
